| Q: How can we be good disciples to Master Cheng Yen? How different are Tzu Chi people from people of Tzu Chi?
A. Speaking in terms of spiritual level, Tzu Chi people are people who take the Buddha's heart as their own heart and the Master's commitment as their own commitment. They are the people who truthfully follow the Buddha's teachings, persistently putting them into practice. Speaking of dharma lineage, these are people who know each other intimately and treat one another with heartfelt warmth. In brief, Tzu Chi people are true cultivators who vow to follow Master Cheng Yen and advance unwaveringly on the path of Tzu Chi; while people of Tzu Chi are people who may endorse the spirit of Tzu Chi and Master Cheng Yen, but only casually match up with its work and missions. |
